Hello from Kathryn your Society President

"Those of you who have supported us over past years will have been disappointed at the cancellation of our Spring and Autumn shows.
The reasons for this are simple, we do not have enough people to help run the shows and at the last AGM no members were willing to fill vacated roles on the committee.
There is a lot of preparation before the shows, moving and setting up tables for exhibits, preparing home baking for the teas and cake stalls, collecting prizes for the raffle and tombola and clearing up and storing tables afterwards.
We have had some offers of help but need to confirm the strength of these intentions.
We will be holding our AGM at 7:30pm on Thursday 31st January 2019 in the Michael Room at Sacred Heart Church Penicuik. We would like to invite both members and any parties interested in the continuance of the society to attend. The main item on the agenda will be the future of the society, whether it will be able to continue and in what form. The alternative is that the society close and the assets be disposed of. As a registered charity we are compelled by law to act according to the conditions of our charitable status.
